The "Official" SPRAYFACE Band Website

Growing up in the Southern California Surf & Hot Rod scene, Gary Usher Jr. quickly amassed the sound of his surroundings and channeled them into a unique style he calls SPRAYFACE.

Schooled by his father (a true pioneer of the Surf and drag set) Gary was hanging around with some of the most influential musicians of the last 3 decades.

Gary has appeared on the Big Screen in Paramount Pictures (Back To The Beach), played as a session guitar player with artists such as Brian Wilson, Dick Dale, Frankie Avalon, Bill Champlin (Chicago, Sons of Champlin), Scottie Page (Supertramp, Pink Floyd), Gino Vanelli, Gary Richrath (R.E.O. Speedwagon), Bobby Kimball (Toto) Mike Inez (Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Alice in Chains) and the great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Literally growing up in recording studios has teamed Gary up with such noted producers such as Dan Huff (Keith Urban, Megadeth) and Toby Wright (Metallica, Alice in Chains)

From his command post at House of Usher Studios, Gary has assembled his own “Wrecking Crew” of talented musicians. From this, emerges SPRAYFACE.

Currently based in the desert valley town of Phoenix, Arizona; SPRAYFACE has enlisted the Kung Fu of Phil Short (Lunch Box Super Heroes, Southern Style) on Bass guitar, the expressive & dynamic Lap Steel of Jamie (The Ferg) Ferguson (Secret of Flight, The Tea & Pistol Revue, Evidence System) and behind the Drum Kit the sensational driving rhythms from Matt Indes (James Kole Band, Schugar/Schenker).

With the upbeat rendition of the Byrds perennial “So You Want to Be a Rock‘n’Roll Star” or Gary’s tribute to his Fathers’ “Mag Rims” to the horror movie house theme of “9 Tana Leaves”. SPRAYFACE is packed with Supersonic Sounds to wet your ear’s appetite with Cool Tones.

SPRAYFACE is a rock band at its core, but injects driving beats with cool retro flavors, epic themes, dynamic chord changes and tastefully intertwined guitar and lap steel melodies. SPRAYFACE blends its own mix of West Coast Surf & Drag as well as an original blend of modern instrumental music.
